Professional Learning Community

Through PLC, we hope to develop our teachers’ competencies in the teaching and learning of Malay Language in their respective levels or classes. Through lesson design and collaboration on teaching and learning practices based on the Singapore Teaching Practice (STP), we seek to bring about improvement in a common area of concern such as pedagogy, teaching strategies and assessment, within the Malay Language curriculum.

The PLC discussion focus will be on 3 of the 6 teacher development areas spelt out in the Work Plan Seminar, namely Assessment Literacy, Differentiated Instruction and E-Pedagogy. We want our teachers to share best practices and carry out deep reflection on their craft, so that there is continual improvement made in students’ learning progress and their learning experiences.

Parents’ Workshop

Our teachers engage our parents with workshop annually. Each year, we will organize workshop for parents so as to provide them with better understanding of the Malay Language curriculum and assessment. Through the workshop, parents learn how to partner us in their child’s journey in learning the Malay Language. We also share with them tips on encouraging their children to use the Malay language as a living language at home. It was very heartening to see parents take time off to attend the workshop and participate actively with us.
