A dynamic Mother Tongue Languages curriculum which builds a strong foundation in the languages among our students while providing them with a rich language learning environment to develop a love for learning the languages and appreciating the cultures.

Other than these school-based activities, the department aims to stretch students’ capabilities and cultivate their love for the Chinese language through externally organised activities such as international online writing competitions, calligraphy competitions, drama workshops organized by cluster schools and/or external organizations.

Professional Learning Communities

As the school journey along Phase 3 of Holistic Assessment, the CL PLC groups will continue to discuss and deepen their understanding and knowledge of assessment practices, so that assessment quality and learning in the classroom through Formative Assessment can be improved.  The focus will be on Primary 1 – Primary 4.

As ICT Master Plan 4 kicks in, all teachers will be engaged in designing quality teaching and learning with technology and sharing of teaching best practices during the PLC sessions. The focus will be on Primary 3 level where CL teachers will design quality teaching and learning activities with the aim of strengthening students’ reading and/or writing abilities.

Since 2016, our CL teachers have also been preparing for the assessment changes for 2017 New PSLE format. Primary 6 CL teachers will continue to work on designing an oral package to enhance Primary 6 students’ oral skills through the use of videos.
